Isnt this kind of.. harsh and unrealistic? I mean, what's so bad that you have to make such an abusive newspost over it?

In reality, by making such a big fuss, you're probably giving the movie more popularity.

When it comes to me liking and disliking flashes, the only movies that I truely dispise are the ones that seem to gain an unusual amount of popularity with no effort put forth into it while other movies with true effort get pushed to the side. Example, some clock crew movies. They only get passed with high scores because the author belongs to a club, which is fine, but if the movie isnt, then I completely dissagree.

To be honest, your news post is just downright hurtful to all animators who put forth effort into their submissions. If I could give you one suggestion, I'd say to calm down a bit and eat a bowl of cheerioes.

Well, in terms of Flashes that have parodied Madness, it's really one of the better ones. You didn't list "not much detail" because it has quite a bit. The colors and music may be a bit strange, but I don't think that should make the movie itself that much worse. You can easily tell Xionico put a lot of effort into it.

While i respect your opinion I have too disagree because the flash in my opinion was pretty well done, yeah i dont have any flashes under my belt but I know a decent flash when I see one. The graphics were great and even though it was a copy of krinkles style , it still seemed too stand out above other madness flashes. Overall I think it was a okay flash

I also didn't care for it, but I respect his work as an artist. he is a much better animator than I could ever hope to be... as long as it has a lot of time put into it, then I won't hate it (unless it's Dilbert.) for your review you should give more tips on how to improve the flash, rather than just speak hatred... go ahead and talk shit about me now... you have my permission.

I agree, I used to love Xonic's cartoons, they are mostly the reason I even got into animating, pretty lame but ya know who cares. I just found the Xonic madness had terrible use of colours, and over used blurring effects or glowing effects. I didnt mind the music, but it didn't stand out.

I for one think Xonic Madness is a ok flash but is way too hyped up must like the Awesome Series. Beasically all he is doing is just copying a another author's idea so it's not original but you can't just say it's horrible because someone put their free time and energy into making it. I know how you feel, there are some flashes that do very well that I just "don't get". But then I remember that there must be some people out there that feel the same way about my flash aswell. It all comes back to the fact that art is subjective, and barely anything will ever be enjoyed by all. Just be happy for fellow artists who do well, even when their work looks like utter shit in your eyes.

The only issue I've ever had with overrated artists is when they act pretentious about it. There was one artist who made an awesome parody and it did really well. Personally, I thought this flash was one of the worst I've ever seen on the site. But I didn't care, until one day I was reading some of the lower reviews he was getting. His defensive, arrogant responses to these reviews were absolutely nauseating.

I think all Madness tributes are pretty overrated. Hell, any "tribute flash" that centers around the work of other people is pretty deplorable in my mind. Especially given how most of these use art from what they're "paying tribute to"

This can be seen in any number of Madness knockoffs where they actually take the sprites from Krinkels. Sprite animations as a whole, for that matter, get under my skin a bit.

I will say, for a Madness "tribute," Xionic is pretty much near the top of the pile.
Then again, being on top of a mountain of shit isn't saying much.

I agree that flash is a bit overrated.

But it was an earnest effort, and in my opinion any positive support from the community could only help the artist get better, and find his own style.
Granted this is a double-edged swords as some artists simply taking the positive support and rest on their laurels and continue to create the same flash, but I rather give them that support now, and berate them later, should they decide to follow that dark path. At any rate its better than most of the spam flash submitted on this site, and thats a step in the right direction

I watched the first Xionic, wasn't particularly enthralled or enraged by it, was kinda annoyed that it got such a high score. I'm not gonna watch the sequel.

However, those things are not important. What's important is that work that is submitted with a serious purpose gets a real critique, whether it sucks or not. Of course, that doesn't apply to spam, but that's not what we're talking about. If somebody posts a shitty flash, tell them WHY it was shit, SUGGEST ways to IMPROVE, and try to maintain some kind of respect. If you tell somebody who releases a shitty flash that they fail, you're not allowing for the kind of growth that's already happened with many other artists on this site.

Take Krinkels himself, for example. Like Madness or not, he's made massive improvements since the original Madness Combat, which I hated.

And how about Egoraptor? Metal Gear Awesome had some of the shittiest animation that's ever had a permanent residence on the top 50. And he too can actually animate now.
